Coaching is a short-term process (up to 12 sessions) based on a collaborative relationship, providing individual or group support for people aiming to achieve specific professional or personal goals. The coach’s role is to help the client enhance skills and increase awareness in areas they wish to develop. Coaching can address various areas, such as career development, stress management, or handling challenging situations. Unlike other forms of psychological support, it is goal-oriented (focused on the future) rather than problem-oriented (focused on the past). Therefore, it emphasizes potential and resources, helping the client use them effectively, rather than concentrating on limitations (although minimizing limitations can also be part of the process).
